A very good resource is "What Is Curriculum-Based Measurement And What Does It Mean to My Child?" Even though that article is meant for parents, I think it is also a good read for teachers who are new to CBM. It has a nice, basic explanation of the process. If you click on the tabs, on that page, and go to professional development, there is even more information on CBM. This is an excellent and rather in-depth look at CBM. These are both free resources. Pros: They are both free and offer much of the same information I learned in special education courses. Cons: Sometimes it is hard to learn in isolation.
