Here's a bit about me!

I am Kathy! I live in the Northwestern USA, near the Pacific Ocean. I grew up in a beach town in California called San Clemente and love being near the ocean.  There are not all that many pictures of me to show to you but I think this one says a lot about me.  I love peacocks and that was my favorite shirt for years. Sadly, it is no longer with us but I do still love peacocks.  This pictures also shows that I love to go tent camping and have been doing it since I was three months old.

  I have two girl munchkins, two feline ones, and one very happy puppy.  Before the girls were born, I taught in gifted programs in Seattle and Issaquah school districts. I always wished I had more skills and expertise with special education, so I went back to school to get my special education endorsement after my girls were established in school. I also have a Master's degree in Elementary education and a reading endorsement. What can I say? I love school!

  I have always loved to be crafty and creative. Before I was born, my mother sewed all her own clothing. After I came along, she continued to sew for us both for years and the sewing seed was planted in me.  So, for the years I was a stay at home mom, I also had a craft blog. I love to sew clothing, accessories, and home decor for the entire family. Even the dog! I am also an advocate for immunizations. During my time away from teaching, I volunteered in my community, state, and online, to help people understand the value of immunizations. I was honored by the CDC as the Immunization Champion for Washington State for 2015.
